Mashantucket, CT - The world's largest casino and a popular coffee and donut chain have teamed up together. Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, recently opened a new Dunkin Donuts outlet in the Rainmaker Casino Expansion, adjacent to the Hard Rock Cafe. According to a Foxwoods press release, the outlet will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is only one of two food outlets at Foxwoods that are open around the clock. Ironically, the other 24/7 outlet in Foxwoods is the Douwe Egberts Cedars location which is located along the Rainmaker Trail of the Great Cedar Hotel Concourse near the Great Cedar Garage Skywalk. The Foxwoods Dunkin Donuts outlet is conveniently located near the Rainmaker Self-Parking Garage, the Dream Rewards Mega Store, and the Pequot Trader retail shop. The outlet takes the place of the former Douwe Egberts Rainmaker outlet and will allow Dream Rewards Card holders to spend their points, which they have earned from gaming, on their favorite baked goods, sandwiches, and beverages. All of the popular Dunkin Donuts fare will be served at the outlet along with the new Dunkin Donuts Smart menu offering healthy alternatives including reduced fat muffins, oven toasted breakfast sandwiches, and new flatbread sandwiches with turkey sausage and egg whites or a vegetable and egg white sandwich. Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Council Representatives, Tribal Elders, Foxwoods Executives, and representatives from Dunkin Donuts were recently on hand to perform a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome the newest outlet to Foxwoods. "We are pleased to be opening this new outlet with such an outstanding partner. The Dunkin Donuts brand is extremely popular and we are pleased to offer our customers the convenience and quality that Dunkin Donuts is known for. We already have had great customer feedback thanking us for bringing the outlet to the property," said Richard E. Sebastian, Vice Chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. On several occasions, long lines formed early in the morning by customers anxious to get their day started with their favorite Dunkin Donuts coffee, sandwiches, and baked goods. Other attendees of the ceremony included Tribal Elder Chairwoman Joyce Walker, Tribal Councilwoman Marjorie Colebut-Jackson, Tribal Elder Toni Parker-Johnson, Tribal Councilwoman Maureen Sebastian, Treasurer Rodney Butler, Vice President of Customer Development Joe DeCarlo, Vice President of Compliance John Perry, and Vice President of Hotel Operations Ed Stanton. This Dunkin Donuts is the third outlet along the Route 2 corridor between Norwich, Connecticut and free slots fruit smoothie Westerly, Rhode Island. Other nearby 24/7 Dunkin Donuts are located at 492 Ct. Rte 2 in Preston and at 136 Norwich Westerly Road in North Stonington. Those coming from the Route 2 expressway or Interstate 395 toward Foxwoods drive past the first location while the later is on the way to Foxwoods for those coming from Interstate 95 or Route 78. Unlike those two locations, this Dunkin Donuts will not feature a drive-thru window, have a dedicated seating area, or sell gift cards. According to the Dunkin Donuts Web site, the company is the world's largest coffee and baked goods chain serving more than 3 million customers a day with 52 varieties of donuts and more than 12 coffee beverages along with a variety of bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and other baked goods. The company is currently headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts.
